A unique opportunity for a charismatic, solutions-orientated Safety Advisor to join a world leading university as part of their developing safety team.  You will essentially need the experience to be able to ‘hit the ground running ‘ and to be commutable to Central London  with the option for agile working based on the needs of the role.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Safety this is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic safety professional to deliver a fresh approach to safety where you will be actively encouraged to ‘think outside of the box’.  The successful candidate will have forward thinking ideas to bring along that can assist in driving the positive health and safety culture throughout the university.

The ideal candidate will essentially have exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to win hearts and minds of all stake-holders, possess a positive and engaging personality and proven ability to multi-task effectively in this fast-paced environment.

Your CV will need to demonstrate a solid health and safety background and due to the variety and diverse nature of the health and safety requirements my client is positively encouraging candidates from all sectors especially with experience within high risk environments.

Ideally you will hold a science related Degree and /or be qualified, and able to demonstrate extensive experience of managing safety in a substantial and complex multi-site organisation.

You will hold a minimum of a Nebosh General and/or equivalent NCRQ qualification and either GradIOSH or preferably working towards CMIOSH with evidence of your ongoing CPD.

The role will include:

  • Promotion and Delivery of Health and Safety guidance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
  • Accident/Incident investigations
  • Delivery Coaching and Safety Training
  • Liaison with enforcement agencies
  • Provide emergency assistance

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and proactive with the ability to successfully manage deadlines and workloads for which you will be accountable.
