Your new company
Health & Safety Officer opportunity within a public sector organisation with a complex estate to handle. With a sizeable in house Estates & Facilities department the multi-site organisation are always looking to improve safety standards for their staff and other members of the public who use their facilities.

Your new role
Working closely with the Head of Estates and Health & Safety Manager you will be responsible for dealing with H&S related queries, ensuring in-house procedures are being followed, liaising with Heads of Departments and other faculty staff to promote safety, completing DSE Assessments, completing general risk assessments, ensuring audits and inspections are undertaken and assisting with any administrative tasks.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have as a minimum the NEBOSH General Certificate plus be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of health & safety practice. Previous hands-on health & safety experience is essential preferably within a complex environment. You will need to be able to work as part of a team, but also be able to take lead of projects on an independent basis with limited support. You will need to be a strong communicator with a flexible approach and collaborative attitude. This role would suit someone with a keen desire to quickly fast-track their health & safety skills, who will be able to give 100% to the role. You also must hold a valid Driving Licence and have access to your own mode of transport.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a starting salary of between £28k and £30k plus standard public sector benefits such as generous pension contributions, generous annual leave and some elements of flexible working. You will get a supportive Manager who will also give you the freedom to work on your own projects.
