Your new company
Hays is a leading global professional recruiting group, the experts at recruiting qualified, professional and skilled people worldwide, being the market leader in the UK and Asia Pacific. With over 8,748 staff operating from 244 offices in 33 countries across 20 specialisms, last year we placed around 57,000 candidates into permanent jobs, and around 212,000 people into temporary assignments.

Within our Hays Health and Safety recruitment team based in Victoria, London, we recruit on behalf of numerous clients across the public and private sectors across a large geographical region that includes London, the Midlands, East Anglia, the South East and South West. Health and Safety is required across all industries, so we work closely with construction, rail, manufacturing, logistics, facilities management, property, retail, pharmaceutical, higher education, NHS, council, social housing and charity clients to name a few!. We are looking to expand and appoint a driven and motivated Recruitment Consultant to work alongside an experienced team who have broken multiple financial records this year and are looking to continue their success.

Your new role
Recruitment is fast-paced and dynamic, every day you'll make a lasting impact. Hays have been established for 15 years in the Health and Safety recruitment market and you will utilise this reputation to lead from the front in winning business from new clients whilst growing existing client relationships. Working for Hays Health and Safety combines the power of the global Hays brand, whilst operating as a boutique specialist agency in a very niche market where reputation is king. You will quickly develop expertise in your specialist market by advertising roles, meeting with clients and candidates, networking in your industry sector and utilising our market leading database. You will be expected to deliver and exceed KPI's and targets on a monthly basis by bringing together both candidate and client to meet their requirements.

With strong ties with IOSH and their local branches as well as industry forums set up to raise Health and Safety standards across different industries - you will help develop these professional relationships and raise Hays' profile across the market. In a candidate driven market, you must demonstrate innovative ways of attracting the best talent whilst providing an outstanding service in introducing them to suitable employers, managing the candidate experience from initial contact through to appointment and aftercare. You shall be working closely with a Manager and Director who have created a culture of excellence and we would expect you to take ownership of adding to the high performing culture.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have excellent sales skills and a proven track record of success in either previous employment or Education. There's not one typical person that makes a good recruiter. We've got people from all kinds of backgrounds - retail, sales professionals, ex-tradespeople, graduates...

You'll need to have excellent interpersonal skills, credibility and drive to both build relationships with your clients and inspire your team around you. To succeed you'll need to demonstrate that you are sales driven, results-focused, and possess an ambitious drive to succeed in a competitive and fast paced environment. Although not essential, it will be beneficial for you to have an interest in Health and Safety. Your clients and candidates will be highly skilled and passionate about the work and are at the very centre of some of the most iconic and important projects and organisations in the UK.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, show attention to detail and a strong work ethic in order to succeed. Recruitment is hard work and it takes time and perseverance to achieve results, so resilience, persistence and determination are key. You need to be passionate about people, outgoing and confident.

What you'll get in return
Hays are committed to developing our employees and you will receive the best training in the industry to help you achieve success as an Associate Recruitment Consultant. This will enable you to build your own business and client/candidate relationships, so you can achieve and enjoy a lasting and rewarding recruitment career. You will be working in a fast paced, challenging yet supportive, fun and sociable environment. You will be rewarded for your success with a competitive basic salary of £20-25k, plus uncapped commission and a wide range of excellent incentives and benefits as well as unrivalled career progression within our business. As an exceptional consultant you will have the opportunity to fast track your career, moving into team and operational management longer term.
