Health and Safety Officer

Could you be our new Health and Safety Officer? Could you promote and inspire a positive health and safety culture at the Royal Shakespeare Company?

In this varied and engaging role, you will have the chance to apply your knowledge proactively, learn and develop new skills and gain exposure to a diverse range of industries and practices within one organisation. You will be part of a small and efficient team that has a positive impact on the work of the RSC.

The right person for this role should enjoy working independently and as part of a team. You will be organised; managing and prioritising your workload. You will also be personable and helpful, advising on risk assessments and completing investigations.

What are your responsibilities? You will be:

  • Carrying out workplace inspections.
  • Carrying out incident investigations and writing reports.
  • Delivering health and safety training courses to staff.
  • Promoting and highlighting health and safety in the workplace.

To be suitable for this position you should hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety, or Level 3 equivalent, and be a member of IOSH. You don't need to have experience of working in theatre, but you should be willing to take on new challenges. We will also enable your growth and development by providing training as required.

This is a full time position based in Stratford-upon-Avon. The working hours are 35 hours per week, with earlier or later start times dependent on the needs of the candidate. This role will include occasional travel to our London offices.

Closing date for applications: Midnight, 26 August 2019.

All applications should be made online using the RSC website. If you need any assistance when applying, please contact the Recruitment Team on 01789 412625 or email jobs@rsc.org.uk
