Your new company
This reputable university based in London have a complex estate rich in history and size. They have a central H&S team made up of generalists and specialists health & safety advisors. This central team provides health & safety services to not only the estates function but also the different departments across the Universities campuses.
Your new role
As a member of the H&S team you will report into the Head of Safety and work across the university to provide advice, assurance and assistance on safety matters. You will be responsible for helping to deliver the aims and objectives on the university and acting as the safety point of contact for any assigned departments. Development and delivery of training will also be a part of the role as will, conducting audits, inspections, investigating accidents, promoting safety awareness, providing emergency assistance, conducting risk assessments and attending safety briefings and meetings.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful you will need to have comprehensive knowledge of health & safety legislation, experience working in an environment with multi-disciplinary issues and experience working within a complex organisation. Ideally you will hold CMIOSH status but for exceptional candidates they would consider relaxing this to GradIOSH or TechIOSH. They are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual who has excellent communication skills.
