Health, Safety & Risk Advisors x2

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is looking to appoint two suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the post of Health, Safety & Risk Advisor, to be based at our Carmarthen campus (with travel to other sites).

As part of the Safety, Health and Environment Unit, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Safety, Health & Environment to ensure that the University meets and exceeds its safety obligations.

Main duties will include:

  • Taking a leading role in delivering a robust health and safety management system across the University providing competent advice and guidance
  • Designing, implementing and reviewing safety related policies and procedures, a robust internal audit programme, Health and Safety training and awareness programmes and accident / incident / near miss investigations
  • Playing a prominent role in generating and promoting a positive safety culture across all University structures supporting the delivery of the University Health and Safety strategy

You will have completed or be working towards a Level 5/6 RQF / QCF Health and Safety professional qualification (e.g. a NEBOSH Diploma) or equivalent, and hold at least Tech IOSH Membership, with willingness to work towards Grad IOSH and CMIOSH status.

You will also need to have previous experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a health and safety management system, as well as a strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application.
