Your new company
Hays Health & Safety have been engaged to recruit a new Health & Safety Manager to join the central safety team of a leading pharmaceuticals company with their head office based in Berkshire. A global player in the pharmaceutical field they are focused on make a difference to peoples lives. They have an opportunity which will suit an influential health & safety professional to join their health & safety team within their corporate arm of the business to drive overall H&S culture as well as managing their H&S System.

Your new role
In this role you will be collaborating with key stakeholders across the UK&I to manage their health & safety across the dynamic and high risk environment. Your primary responsibilities in this role may include the following:

  • Implementing the H&S Management System to ensure legal obligations and support of safety culture
  • Ensuring training needs are identified, delivered and monitored
  • Developing H&S systems and procedures
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Delivering and maintaining ISO 45001
  • Manage the risk management system including undertaking risk assessments and reviewing measures
  • Line management responsibility for one advisor within the team.
This role offers the opportunity to create, implement and monitor H&S across a huge portfolio of risk within an organisation who is striving forward in the development of safety culture.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful you will need to hold the NEBOSH Diploma and ideally CMIOSH status. Experience within the life sciences field would be highly advantageous. You will need to be a confident and influential communicator who can engage and promote H&S within the company. Experience in implementing H&S management systems and training programs is also key.

What you'll get in return
In return you will earn a base salary of between £55k-65k (dependent on experience and interview performance.) In addition the benefits package includes the following: 10% bonus, 26 days annual leave, contributory pension, private healthcare, life assurance and more... There is also free parking available on site and the office contains a subsidised restaurant.
