Health & Safety Manager

We’re on the lookout for a hard-working, experienced Health and Safety Manager to join the team at the new Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) based in Sheppey.

You’ll be working within a dedicated team of 12 health and safety professionals across the UK and Ireland, supporting corporate goals and maintaining Aldi at the forefront of health and safety in the retail sector. You’ll be faced with the challenge of helping to shape the safety culture in the new upcoming region. You’ll also carry out safety inspections and audits to ensure all health and safety requirements are met, and you’ll carry out investigations if and when required.

This is an amazing opportunity for you to work closely with regional operations across warehousing, logistics and retail, as well as providing support for the regional office and property functions of the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure Aldi stays at the forefront of health and safety within the sector.
  • Influence the Health & Safety strategy and impact on the business.
  • Shape the safety culture in new region.
  • Support the regional operations teams for our stores and warehouses, as well as the regional office and property functions of our existing stores.

Essential skills required:

  • A 2:1 degree.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience working within Retail, Warehousing or Logistics.
  • Experience within a Health and Safety management role.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • IOSH membership (ideally working towards Chartered Membership) with related experience in retail/logistics is.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable skills required:

  • Experience in health and safety enforcement.
  • IEMA qualifications.
