Regional Health and Safety Manager
Location: North West
Salary: Up to £45,000 + car + bonus + PHI
Summary
Assured Safety Recruitment are partnering with a highly successful logistics business, which has achieved significant growth through both acquisition and organic growth. We are recruiting a Regional Health and Safety Manager based from the North West. This is an exciting time to join the business with further growth and investment planned for the future.
Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety the Regional Health and Safety Manager will act as the lead for the Northern Region, working pro-actively with managers to promote a culture of safe working practices and standardisation across the region. The role will directly manage a small team of Regional Health and Safety Advisors.
Key Responsibilities
To ensure the company’s Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the organisation.
To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required.
To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required.
To advise the Board and senior management team on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation and generate actions plans to ensure compliance across the organisation.
To support General Managers with the provision and maintenance of safe systems of work, providing specialist advice (e.g. DSEAR, COMAH etc.) , coaching and practical support.
·To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required.
To investigate, or where appropriate, to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.
Meet with representatives of the HSE, LA, Fire authorities etc. as required.
Requirements
Previous experience in a multi-site role.
Either direct employment experience within a logistics business or experience within an industry with a strong warehousing/logistics bias such as manufacturing.
Nebosh Diploma or equivalent (exceptional candidates close to completing the course are welcome).
