Health and Safety Officer (Biosafety)

A leading Education establishment is seeking a Health and Safety Officer with a specialism in Biosafety. You will provide technical assistance to the wider H&S team, in addition to supporting Heads of Department, laboratory staff and facilities department on H&S issues. This role will focus on biosafety across the laboratories.

The Role:

• Conduct safety inspections and audits, and devise risk control strategies
• Work as part of the team to ensure compliance with ISO 14001
• Develop and review policies and procedures
• Deliver H&S training to staff

The Candidate:

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NCRQ/equivalent
• Proven H&S Advisor with experience providing H&S advice and support in a diverse environment, including biological labs
• Degree/HND/NHC in life sciences subject
• Approachable communication style
