An opportunity has arisen for a Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Director to join a leading utilities/construction company based in Kent, whilst the role is based in Kent it will be covering the UK so location can be flexible as long as the candidate is happy to travel to Kent when required. The role will be a strategic lead across all SHEQ activities and responsible for delivering the company commitment to SHEQ obligations and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations incumbent on the company. The ideal candidate will have worked at a senior level with strong stakeholder engagement skills and previous utilities or construction knowledge and be able to manage multiple different business streams within the business

The Role:

  • Develop SHEQ strategy, expectations and direction for the group 
  • Lead the delivery of all SHEQ operations across the company 
  • Establish, implement & manage the Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality strategy. 
  • Set standards and lead by example in the management of Health & Safety 
  • Promote best practice across the company 
  • Lead the business in continuous improvement of the SHEQ management systems 

The Candidate:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in Health & Safety, ideally in a utilities or construction environment 
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent minimum 
  • Grad IOSH, working towards CMIOSH
  • Previous experience leading a business and driving change and proven at making an impact on SHEQ  
  • Enthusiastic professional who is always looking to grow and progress in their SHE career
