Head of SHEQ

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced for a Head of Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality to join a specialist civil engineering & telecoms company to lead the SHEQ department with a view to provide professional advice and strategic lead over all SHEQ matters. The ideal candidate would have operated at senior strategic level before and lead SHEQ across a business. The ideal background will be within telecoms, civil engineering or construction. The role will require national travel and can be based from home but will require regular travel to West Midlands Head Office 

The Role:

• Responsible for leading the SHEQ department including a H&S Manager and Quality lead
• Ensure best practice and lessons are learnt through continuous improvement 
• Responsible for the budget across the business
• Report into board level with regular updates on SHEQ performance
• Responsible for driving a positive SHEQ culture across the business 
• Identify and lead on SHEQ initiatives 

The Candidate:

• 5+ years’ experience working in Health & Safety
• Previously worked at senior level and implementing a SHEQ strategy across a business
• Experience working in telecoms, civil engineering or construction environment  
• Must have manage a team of SHEQ professional and experienced in driving safety culture 
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent 
• Minimum Grad IOSH (working towards CMIOSH)
