Safety Health and Environmental Officer
£32,234 p.a.
Following the successful internalisation of our Heating Service, we have decided to also internalise the Repairs and Maintenance service.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Safety Health and Environmental Officer to help shape the delivery of the new service.
The ideal candidate will have worked within a similar role previously, will have ideas about how to modernise our service, utilising systems where appropriate and have a suitable qualification in Health and Safety, but most importantly, you must have a positive approach to safety with an ability to engage at all levels.
This is a diverse role and you’ll need to have broad range of experience, ideally including construction or property maintenance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To be responsible for Health and Safety Management Systems within Property Care and moving this towards the ISO45001 standard
- To Lead in the creating initial service Risk and COSHH assessments
- Lead the auditing of Site works and Systems within Property Care and Tenant Services.
- To be responsible for the Safety and Environmental policy and procedure writing for the specialised functions of Tenant Services and Property Care
- To lead the creation and delivery of bespoke Health and Safety training packages including toolbox talks
This is not a 9-5 role and requires an individual who is flexible, and committed to delivering outcomes and will undoubtedly have to go beyond the Job Description.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential, and you’ll need to demonstrate a real passion to provide excellent customer service.
For an informal discussion, please contact Jon Priest, Compliance and Assurance Manager by email: jon.priest@stroud.gov.uk.
