Join Norwich City Services Ltd and transform the way we look after our city and our people.
For the first time in 20 years property services, environmental services and building maintenance for Norwich are coming back under Council control through the set up and creation of our newly formed company, Norwich City Services Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead and support the transition, mobilisation and implementation of the SHEQ elements of the operational service. You will be responsible for driving SHEQ strategy and contractual performance to embed a culture of safe working, environmental awareness and quality across NCSL, ensuring legal compliance is maintained at all times.
Role details
Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll lead on several wide-ranging projects and take strategic responsibility for the successful implementation of an integrated SHEQ management system; establishing an effective performance improvement framework for safety, health, environmental and quality issues involving collecting and analysing key performance indicator data, using it to inform decisions and develop appropriate interventions.
Highly engaging, you will actively inspire and empower others to take effective ownership and understanding of sensible risk management. Supporting the transition of the workforce to the new service to ensure it is a success.
Who we’re looking for
With strong evidence of professional & technical expertise in the key work areas within environmental services (street cleaning, grounds operations and arboriculture) as well building maintenance services, we are looking for candidates with experience in strategic leadership in a similar role. You will have proven ability developing processes, system design and operating models within ISO 9001/14001 and 45001 to capitalise upon opportunities for continuous improvement. Impressive communication, project management and partnership-building skills are also essential along with an understanding of the key SHEQ related challenges & opportunities facing local government and the commercial sector.
