Ipswich Borough Council is seeking a Corporate Health and Safety Manager to lead and drive health and safety activities across the organisation.
The opportunity
The Council is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to provide expert leadership and advice in safety, health and risk management measures across the activities of the organisation, ensuring "Best in Class" health and safety standards are in place and a continuously improving trend is established.
* Leading the delivery of continuous improvement in Health and Safety practice and a positive Health and Safety culture
* Creating, establishing and driving strategy, methodology, systems and processes to achieve this across our services including parks and cemeteries, waste and recycling, sports centres, swimming pools, theatres, events, car parking, building control and maintaining 7,500 Council homes.
What are we looking for from you?
You will have previous experience as a SHEQ professional with leadership experience being essential.
You will be a passionate and forward-thinking health and safety leader with a proactive, engaging and motivational leadership style, influencing and inspiring those around you, bringing a mix of rigour and attention to detail and the interpersonal skills to drive improvement on a continual basis.
You will hold BSc in Occupational Health and Safety, or a NEBOSH National Diploma.
