Location: Cambridge

Contract: Permanent/Temporary

Hours: Full time

Description of role:

TWI’s Quality and Safety Group provide advice and support to everyone working at TWI. The Group is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join this friendly and busy team.

Your duties will include:

  • assisting staff in the production of risk and COSHH assessments
  • assisting the H&S team leader to produce fire risk assessment reports
  • the data logging of accident and near miss statistics
  • updating safety information around site
  • offering advice and assistance on health and safety matters
  • working with team members to maintain our ISO 45001:2018 certification

You will be required to work under the guidance of the H&S Team Leader in order to deliver a timely, efficient and professional service to internal customers. You will be expected to build your expertise in appropriate areas and keep up to date with developments in standards and legislation.

You will be a self-motivated individual, able to work alone or as part of a small team. You must be organised and able to work to tight deadlines whilst managing frequent interruptions. Accuracy and attention to detail will be important to you. Excellent communication skills are key to this role as it is envisaged that a significant proportion of your time will be spent with colleagues working in laboratories and workshops.

You will have a NEBOSH certificate or other relevant Health & Safety Qualification, and experience of working in an Engineering environment.

Travel:

This role will require occasional travel to UK regions. (for permanent position only)

Security clearance:

Must hold or be able to get UK Security Clearance. (for permanent position only)
