The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.
We are now seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer on a permanent, full-time basis to join our team in the NEU Headquarters office in London. The post holder will manage health & safety arrangements for all staff, ensuring the Union is compliant with H&S legislation and regulations as well as property management support to the Senior Administration Manager.
The successful applicant will need to hold both NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management. Able to manage conflicting demands – and working on their own initiative - they will need to be able to think innovatively and have a solution focussed problem solving attitude, planning and executive agreed plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
We offer good conditions including a commencing salary of £41,474 plus luncheon allowance currently set at £1,056; 33 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a final salary pension scheme. Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.
