Your new role

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Manager to work within our Major Projects Directorate supporting our £27.4bn investment programme. The role will primarily be covering our Regional Investment Programme (RIP) East region.
What you’ll be leading on
You will be supporting the safe delivery of our Major Projects portfolio of work within the Regional Investment Programme (RIP) East region. This includes:
- Contributing to and supporting the effective delivery of the Major Projects Home, Safe and Well Plan.
- Providing advice and supporting change.
- Monitoring and reviewing performance by undertaking assurance activities that support Major Projects to discharge their Employer and Client duties.
To be successful
- NEBOSH / NCRQ Diploma Level 6 (or equivalent) health and safety qualification
- Professional level membership of a recognised body (e.g. CMIOSH or working towards) with relevant Continuous Professional Development.
- Working knowledge of construction industry health and safety legislation and its interpretation and application within infrastructure projects.
- Experience of health and safety management within a client organisation covering large scale infrastructure projects and employer context.
- Ability to communicate and influencing effectively at all organisational levels (including Senior Managers) and across all disciplines, both within Highways England and with external organisations.
- Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.

- Strong leadership and inter-personal and collaboration skills with experience in influencing people.
