Job overview
To provide effective and independent Health and Safety Advice and service for PHE with focus on National Infection Service (NIS) to comply with statutory health and safety requirements and PHE health and safety policies/arrangements. To provide expert health and safety support and advice aligned with the PHE approach within NIS. Further to develop and implement plans aligned to the overall PHE strategy, plan, management systems and arrangements. To foster a positive health and safety culture and as required lead on NIS wide initiatives.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone that has excellent knowledge of health and safety and can provide safety advice and support to encourage the implementation of good safe working practices. PHEs working environment is complex and presents unique challenges; therefore, to be successful, candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the key principles of successful health and safety management.

Appointment to this post is on PHE terms and conditions of service. Only previous continuous service in the Civil Service is recognised for contractual purposes.
