Safety Director Opportunity | Large Network Infrastructure Provider | London | £85-100K + package

Your new company
My client is a key player in Britain's digital network footprint connecting homes, schools, mobile phone masts, broadcasters and businesses - large and small - together. With a work force of 30,000+ they have ambitious plans to deliver better service, broader coverage and faster speeds to their millions of customers. In their business they pride themselves on having senior leaders who can drive opportunity for growth, development and customer experience.

Your new role
As the new Director of Safety you will be responsible for managing safety operations and risk across the whole scope of the business, including developing and delivering safety strategy and annual plans. You will be required to keep up to date with developments and changes to ensure safety plans are relevant. Part of this role will also include key stakeholder engagement including the executive board, where you will be responsible for reporting on safety risk and performance. Your day to day role will include oversight of the asset assurance programme, managing a wider team of safety and engineering professionals, developing policies, identification of key risk areas and control procedures and providing overall general advice. This role will be hands on as well as strategic and is best suited for candidates who are used to working on developing culture.

What you'll need to succeed
In addition to qualifications (NEBOSH Diploma, CMIOSH - or working towards), you will need to be a strong leader with a prominent and successful track record in proactively identifying risks and solutions, developing culture, and delivering safety plans. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of an organisation is also non-negotiable. Any experience previously working within engineering, rail, telecoms or utilities would also be a bonus. The key thing for my client is finding someone who can bring the right technical knowledge combined with a proactive and positive engagement style in order to really be able to influence and drive safety forward.

What you'll get in return
In addition to a base salary up to £100k there is also a fully comprehensive benefits package include company car (or car allowance), bonus scheme, flexible working options including home working, private healthcare, group pension scheme and more...
