EHS Co-Ordinator

Location: Cambridge

Please note: We're all currently working remotely due to Covid-19.  We hope to be back in the office later this year.

In the EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) team you will work alongside our scientists and engineers in developing a wide range of products and devices safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.  You’ll need to broaden and develop your knowledge across the whole range of hazards and regulatory areas to give prompt, useful and reliable advice to the development teams as they work. You will play a key role in developing and PA’s Science Based Targets and in leading our efforts to meet them, making a genuine and significant contribution to our carbon footprint reduction.  At the same time, you’ll collaborate with our Facilities teams to monitor and manage their environmental performance and statutory duties.

While the focus of your work will be on the Melbourn site, you will build a UK-wide and global network, running our accredited EHS management system, and providing general advice and support globally You’ll learn to get the most from that network as you pull together our global carbon footprint data, and work with your stakeholders to make meaningful reductions. This is a fast paced role where you will need to be flexible and always be open to embrace new challenges and opportunities

What we're looking for:

The role of the EHS Coordinator is to deliver a first class service to the business, maintaining and improving EHS performance and compliance. The role will include pro-active and reactive support for projects and incidents throughout PA. This role will help PA maintain and re-accredit environment, health and safety certifications whilst promoting best practice across the business

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree calibre, or appropriate equivalent professional qualification
  • Formal health and safety training such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or Health and Safety degree-level qualification
  • Relevant experience in EHS management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Some experience of small project management including office moves and fit-out preferred
  • Some experience of Energy and Environment preferred
