Senior CDM Consultant / Principal Designer

This is an exciting and exclusive opportunity to join a large global multi-disciplinary consultancy, and be embedded into a major Pharmaceutical client of theirs as a Senior Principal Designer / CDM Consultant. The position would be based in the client's main site in West London, where there will be a mix of new-build, extensions, and refurbishment projects occurring. The candidate will be primarily be involved within our existing EHS Team carrying out Principal Designer duties on capital projects, and ensuring that all key projects where high input from designers is required has suitable and enough Design Risk Assessment in place. The position will be suitable for experienced CDM / Principal Designers and Construction Health & Safety professionals who are looking to take the next step in their career, and make a big impact within a global organisation. 

The Role: 

• Provide Principal Design services in line with CDM 2015 Regulations, including Design Principals, Design Reviews, assessment of Designers Risk Assessments, RAMS Assessments, PCI Reviews, CPP assessments, Contractor assessments etc
• Carry out safety inspections and audits (logging results with the established database) at intervals to be agreed on projects during the ‘construction phase’
• Facilitate EH&S review process on behalf of the Project Manager at the four key stages (including lessons learnt)
• Support all West London and R D sites, reviewing of Construction Phase Plans, delivering EHS objectives, and carrying out PC / Contractor Due Diligence

The Candidate: 

• Proven skills and competence in delivery of Principal Designer / H&S / CDM services
• Working knowledge of the Principals of Design and of CDM 2015
• Relevant Health & Safety Qualifications (NEBOSH/NCRQ or equivalent) and to be a member of IOSH 
• Experience in capital projects in Manufacturing/Industrial and ideally pharmaceutical environments
