Your new role

This is a new role for an Environmental Specialist to join the business following a restructure and significant recent investment.

Main purpose of the role:

The Environmental Specialist will be a key member of the team for developing and implementing site processes and procedures to lead environmental legislative, regulatory and business requirements, however with some knowledge of Health & Safety requirements. In this role, you will utilize your technical knowledge, experience and expertise to solve EHS problems and you will instil and foster proactive EHS-conscious culture and drive operational ownership of Environmental, Health & Safety programs through all levels of the organization

You will work with site Facilities and Operations teams ensuring the site develops a positive EHS culture, clear EHS responsibilities and business and regulatory compliance to all aspects of EHS.

Working hours are 37 / week, Monday-Friday (Monday-Thursday, 8am-4.30pm and 8am-1pm on Fridays)

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate must have worked in a regulated environment within manufacturing / engineering, marine / shipping, automotive, aviation or similar industry. You must have managed environmental permits, have a working knowledge of ISO 14001 and an IEMA qualification (or similar).

A NEBOSH General Certificate and Six Sigma training will be an advantage too.

This role will suit an Environmental specialist / lead or an environmentally-biased Health and Safety professional.

You will receive a market led salary between £40,000-£47,000 (DOE), pension between 3-5% employee and 8-10% employer (matched), 26 days holiday + BH's (plus option to buy / sell up to 5 days / year), free on-site parking and gym.
