Your new role
As the Health & Safety Manager, the main purpose of your role is to provide advice and support to all areas whilst overseeing the Health & Safety requirements for the business. Guaranteeing all regulations and best practices are followed. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide EHS advice, support and guidance to employees so they can carry out their duties efficiently as required.
  • Complete internal/external audits in all areas of the workshop.
  • Review the policies and procedures and amend to fit the growing business.
  • Undertake COSHH assessments, permit to work requirements, co-ordinate regulatory inspections/monitoring.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections for LOLER and PSSR are carried out and any remedial actions are completed.
  • Monitor and manage the disposal of non hazardous waste.
  • Be the lead for external contractors, completing RAMS where required.
  • Liaise with occupational hygienist to ensure workplace air monitoring and noise monitoring is carried out in line with Monitoring program.
  • Monitor and audit all work shop machinery, ensuring reduced downtime for critical pieces of equipment is allowed.
  • Manage Facilities of the workshop.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, my client is looking for someone who can demonstrate a real passion for Health & Safety. Having a positive and proactive approach and the ability to engage and collaborate with employees at all levels is a must. You must be a hands-on Health & Safety professional, whilst having strong communication and organisation skills and the ability to drive continuous improvements. To be considered for this role you will need to hold a NEBOSH Certificate and have previous experience in a manufacturing environment within a similar role. Experience in joinery or similar is beneficial.

What you'll get in return
Salary of up to £40,000, 22 days holiday plus bank holiday allowance and there also is a generous pension scheme of 3% employer contribution in the first year, rising to 6% after a year. Health care and other internal benefits are included.
