Your new company
A public sector research organisation based in Middlesex are working with Hays Health & Safety exclusively to appoint a Health & Safety Manager for their site. With such a varied site ranging from controlled laboratory environments, libraries, offices, a restaurant and break-out spaces, health, safety & environment remain a consistently high priority.

Your new role
This role will work closely with the Head of Health & Safety to set H&S standards across the organisation. You will help manage, develop and communicate H&S standards, oversee day-to-day operations, and deliver compliance plans. As well as acting partially strategically you will also be hands-on in conducting audits, accident investigations and delivering training where required. This role will help to champion safety across the organisation and will work closely with managers to drive performance and provide general H&S guidance.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful you will need to hold at least the NEBOSH General Certificate (ideally the NEBOSH Diploma) and have practical health & safety experience within either a lab/R&D/pharma environment. You will need to be experienced in auditing, conducting incident and root cause investigations and the ability to both work and lead a team. A demonstrable experience with DSEAR, fire risk and ISO45001 will also be highly beneficial.
