The role

Health and Safety at the University sits within Estates, which is responsible for the management and development of University premises in Milton Keynes and its National and Regional Centres. We have a new opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Trainer to join our Health and Safety team in designing and delivering a professional and efficient health and safety training programme across the University.

As a Health and Safety Trainer you will help to drive the Health and Safety Strategy across the Open University supporting exemplary practices, promoting a culture of safety first and monitoring compliance. You will provide expert health and safety advice and guidance for across the University. This is a new, exciting and varied opportunity that will help support the University with its strategic mission.

Skills and experience

This role will suit you if you:

  • Possess both the NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health & Safety and at least Level 3 award in Education and Training
  • Possess extensive knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Legislation
  • Are experienced in designing and delivering Health & Safety courses
  • Are an excellent communicator, able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
