Starting salary for this position is £37,472 per annum (plus contributory pension)

We are looking for an exceptional Global Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic and dedicated Programmes Team by supporting the implementation of MAG’s H&S Framework to keep all our HQ and Programmes staff safe. You will report into the Head of Global Security and be responsible for delivering on the recommendations of our recent organisational H&S review, conduct country visits with a view to assess and improve their practices, while being the subject matter expert on this topic. You will be the first appointment in the business, thereby seeing you work in a growing and high priority area at MAG with the ability to make a real impact on our Health & Safety remit
Providing quality H&S information, training, policy and standards guidance, and consistent support that enables the management of programme delivery in accordance with MAG’s duty of care obligations and in line with our Global H&S Policy. Working with MAG’s Regional and Country Directors, who are globally dispersed, you will monitor and support global compliance and developing a H&S management culture. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to take a leading role in H&S management for a global organisation, working in some of the most challenging environments in the world.
You will have previous experience in a lead H&S role within an international NGO or similar sector. You will be able to develop and implement H&S management systems in addition to conducting risk/H&S assessments and formulating mitigation measures. You will use your experience to support colleagues and facilitate their engagement and compliance with policies and procedures, assist the learning of others and support training initiatives.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence to secure buy-in to achieve change. Success in this role will depend on excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely to a range of internal and external stakeholders. A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work is required, with the tenacity to see projects through to implementation.
