Your new company
Hays are currently engaged with a prestigious historic venue in London who are looking to permanently recruit a Health & Safety Officer to lead their in-house safety function. Alongside safeguarding, health & safety is the top priority for the organisation as their risks include a heavy maintenance & refurbishment programme, over 1,000,000 visitors a year and the building itself being of heritage nature.

Your new role
This role will work closely with key Heads of Departments to drive and set policies and procedures in regards to health & safety. This role has been designed to provide support and continued reassurance for all aspects of health & safety across the organisation/venue and ensure legislation is adhered to in the forever changing landscape. In addition to developing policies & procedures, you will also be in charge of undertaking a gap analysis, looking at a three year risk-based rolling programme, championing health & safety culture, delivering health & safety training, running the health & safety committee, carrying out inspections/audits/risk assessments and undertaking accident/incident investigations. This role is a part-time vacancy working 21 hours / 3 days a week based on site at the venue.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful you will need to hold at least the NEBOSH Certificate but preferably the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent.) You will also need experience in developing and implementing policies & procedures and ideally some experience working within a public facing organisation. Experience with listed/heritage buildings would also be a bonus.

What you'll get in return
In return you will get a pro-rata salary based on a FTE salary of £50,000. There will also be some flexible working options available.
