No day is the same for a Health and Safety Advisor at Grundon, so if variety is paramount in your next role, look no further than our fascinating and surprisingly diverse waste management, environmental and quarrying company. Based at our South Oxfordshire head office, but with frequent travel across all Grundon sites (mainly in the south-east), you will join our six-strong SHEQ team on a permanent contract and earn a competitive salary with a host of great benefits, including:

- Company car
- Pension scheme – you contribute 5% of pay (true cost is less due to Income Tax and NI relief) and Grundon matches this
- Life assurance cover as a member of our pension scheme (twice your annual salary from day one)
- Discretionary bonus based on performance
- Option to buy additional holiday and join cycle to work scheme (after a qualifying period)

What you'll be doing as our Health and Safety Advisor
Our standards and awards are testament to an excellent health and safety culture, which you will promote throughout the business - from depots and quarries to landfill sites and Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs). You will:
- Provide practical and professional support and advice to managers
- Interpret legislative information and translate it into practical, workable documentation
- Carry out regular reviews of health & safety literature, and communicate it to the business
- Ensure our operations have procedures in place for adherence to legislation, codes of practice and external standards
- Identify and implement improvements

What we're looking for in our Health and Safety Advisor
- Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in a similar role, ideally in the waste or quarrying industries
- NEBOSH certificate (Safety & Environmental) or equivalent
- Auditor and training qualifications
- Experienced in accident/incident investigation and report writing
- Experienced in auditing ISO 45001, 14001, 9001 and 50001 standards
- Experienced in writing and delivering health & safety-related training
- Hands-on approach and adept at building relationships
- Full UK driving licence

Working hours: 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri (40 hours), but the nature of the role may mean working additional hours from time to time
