Cardiff University is recruiting for the high-profile post of Scientific Safety Adviser based in the central Safety and Staff Wellbeing team. The successful candidate will be working closely with colleagues in a team of specialist safety, health, environmental and wellbeing professionals. As a key senior member of the team the role will act as the University’s lead Scientific Safety Advisor, working with and advising Schools within the University on all aspects of scientific safety. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to provide general safety advice to a range of stakeholders, as well as being responsible for the day-to-day management of the Scientific Safety Officer.
This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication, digital skills and the ability to forge and maintain mutually beneficial relationships both internally and externally. We are looking for someone who is customer focussed, has the ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing environment and is able demonstrate experience in developing and implementing proactive H&S projects across a large complex organisation.
This post is full-time, 35 hours per week and open-ended.
This role is normally based on the Cathays campus (Park Place). However, following the introduction of a blended working programme there will be opportunities for home working, subject to business need and discussion with relevant line management.
