The O2 Health & Safety team wow our customers by ensuring our venue and all live events are safe and also look after all our employees making sure they can carry out their roles in a secure and safe way. They are looking for a Head of Health & Safety to oversee the H&S operations within The O2 arena, Icon Outlet, Entertainment District and Up at The O2.

You’ll develop, manage, maintain, and implement Health & Safety and Fire Safety management systems, policies, and strategy throughout The O2.

You’ll also provide competent advice to The O2 employees, contractors and tenants on health, safety, compliance, and fire safety matters.

With primary responsibility for accident, complaint and claims management including any relevant investigations required; you’ll be responsible for the monitoring of accident/incident trends and advising the business with proposed improvement plans.

You’ll oversee the operation of the Contractor Management System and lead on any operational changes to suit the business; and develop the H&S and Fire Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOPs), Risk Assessments and reports as required.

This role allows the successful candidate to develop and deliver the strategic plan to ensure health and safety is firmly embedded within the culture of The O2 and its employees.

We’re looking for someone with NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent and NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management or equivalent. You’ll also be working towards or have the desire to complete Level 1 & 2 Food Hygiene Certificates.

You’ll have proven experience in the formulation and delivery of health and safety management and strategy implementation in a comparable environment.

As this role encompasses all departments within The O2 and wider venue, you’ll have proven stakeholder management skills, understanding both business and commercial needs  and be able to confidently communicate and manage expectations.

You’ll have strong people management skills with the ability to manage and motivate to enhance people capability; and be able to build good working relationships both internally and externally.

A team player who enjoys working in a high achieving and busy environment; you’ll have the ability to work autonomously and have a positive “can do” attitude.

Due to the nature of our business you will need to be able to work flexibly in terms of hours / weekends as necessary.

Where: You’ll be based at The O2, Peninsula Square, London SE10 0DX. We offer flexible start and end times and currently work 4 days in the office and 1 day remotely.
