Head of Health and Safety | Stratford-upon-Avon | £85,000 + Car + Benefits

Irwin & Colton has been engaged by a high-profile company in the wider civil engineering and utilities space to recruit a Head of Health and Safety. The role is focused on ensure the creation and delivery of the health and safety strategy across the fast growing organisation.

This role will involve flexible working including the office, homeworking and visiting sites across the south Midlands area.

Responsibilities of the Head of Health and Safety will include:

• Creating and implementing the health and safety policies and procedures and recruiting the health and safety team to ensure these can be successfully delivered
• Keeping updated with key changes to legislation and ensuring the organisation remains compliant
• Engaging with senior managers, clients and external stakeholders ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety related enquires
• Continually developing and reviewing the health and safety management system in line with industry best practice
  

The successful Head of Health and Safety will have:

• Proven experience in a similar role within civil engineering and utilities, ideally with street works experience
• Ideally a NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma or NVQ 5 (or equivalent) and experience with ISO standards
• The ability to influence and engage key internal and external stakeholders
• A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
