The Company

Assured Safety Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading accreditation body to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment Manager for their UK operations.  Working closely with the Site Leader and Group HSE Manager you will lead the development of  the Health, Safety, Environment Strategy and create initiatives to embed a proactive and positive health, safety and environment culture, whilst ensuring they meet its statutory requirements and external accreditations.

About the role

The role of Health, Safety and Environment Manager is both strategic and hands on - ensuring the site has both clear strategic and legal objectives, and having high visibility in all area's of the site for all level of employees. Supporting and clarifying, through training and coaching. to ensure managers and employee's have the tools to proactively contribute and input into health, safety and environmental at site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • EHS Systems - maintenance, development and embedding
  • EHS Audits - ensure effectiveness of EHS management systems and corrective actions
  • EHS procedures - develop and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Risk Assessments - review and assurance
  • Accident Investigation - oversee and ensure suitable follow up actions
  • Group H&S - work as part of UK HSE team and ensure group vision is delivered at site
  • Site Leadership Team - Work as part of SLT and contributing to the success of site, setting health, safety and environment strategy 
  • Contractor Management - assurance and compliance of existing systems
  • Accreditations - Maintain ISO accreditations
  • Your experience

    Candidates will need to have the following skills and experience:

    Previous experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment

    Qualified to Nebosh Diploma (or close to qualification achievement) holding or working towards GradIOSH/CMIOSH.  Lead Auditor experience.

    Ability to influence effectively at all levels
