We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to fulfil this key role of Corporate Safety Advisor based within our Regulation Unit. The Corporate Safety Advisor works across the whole organisation to ensure that we have a safe working environment for all our employees and representatives. To be successful you will need to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about health and safety compliance, keen to promote best practice, provide training in key areas and support staff to provide solutions to problems as they arise.
You will need to have experience of working in health and safety with the ability to be self-starting and possess the initiative to identify risks and propose solutions. This post reports directly to the Head of Regulation and requires well developed report writing and presentation skills. The Council provides a range of services with a wide array of associated risks, which can make the role a significant challenge at times.
Being well organised, able to meet agreed deadlines, and have a developed knowledge in the use of technology to deliver work demands are also key requirements. Involvement in the Council’s Emergency Planning and Duty Officer services also adds additional variation to the role.
Amber Valley is an attractive area in the heart of Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District National Park and close to the lively cities of Nottingham and Derby. A full driving licence is required, and the starting salary will be dependent on relevant experience, skill set, and qualifications held. In return we can offer:
