Interim Health and Safety Manager
St Helens
Circa £350 per day (Outside IR35) | 3 Month Duration, potential for extension

An exciting new role has arisen with a large Government Organisation who are looking for an Interim Health and Safety Manager. This role is expected to be an initial 3-month contract, with an immediate start. This is a hands-on, operational role, with its primary focus being to review the current health and safety policies for the organisation, identifying gaps and then working proactively with senior management on improvement strategies and future planning for health and safety across the organisation.

Responsibilities of the Interim Health and Safety Manager will include:

  • Reviewing the current Health and Safety policies and assessing if they are fit for purpose
  • Creating new policies where required with an associated roadmap for implementation
  • Documenting procedures, and providing a supervisory/advisory service to managers with regards to risk assessments
  • Making recommendations for improvement and delivering new initiatives for the Health and Safety function moving forward

The successful Interim Health and Safety Manager will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role with public sector experience - ideally within property, public sector, education or similar
  • Hold a NEBOSH Certificate or other level 6 health and safety qualification, and ideally holds IOSH membership
  • Strong project management experience with a keen eye for detail and a track record of project delivery
  • A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation
