Total package of up to £70k made of up base pay and allowances, based on experience.

Full time with the flexibility of hybrid working, depending on business needs.

Based at Hanslope Park near Milton Keynes, MK19 7BH

As our Head of Operational Health and Safety you will ensure we deliver our projects and services safety. If you’re a senior safety professional with a wealth of diverse experience including construction and complex multidisciplinary delivery streams   - this could be the role for you.

Impacting every area of our organisation this senior role is challenging and exciting. It will stretch your technical, leadership and management skills with diverse H&S risks on a global scale. Through design and delivery of strategy and operational safety risk management it will take your safety skills to the next level across logistics, construction and data centres, impacting people, products and services. You will be a key player in a major safety change programme, ensuring we have a strong safety culture now and into the future.

You’ll design and deliver our Health & Safety Strategy and Policy, both in the UK and overseas. You’ll ensure our corporate governance arrangements meet statutory and regulatory requirements. Building effective relationships and driving continual improvement, you’ll make sure we always deliver for our government-level customers.

Bring the expertise we’re looking for.

You’re a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety, with a NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Diploma or equivalent. You’ve already delivered effective safety management across a diverse platform and managed a team of health and safety professionals.

You have strong communication, influencing and presentation skills. When it comes to representing FCDO Services to external agencies and customers, you’re able to make a personal impact and build credibility. Crucially, you bring the imagination and curiosity to address both the big picture and smaller issues.

Vetting process

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you’ll need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
