Irwin & Colton has been engaged by a high profile Tier 1 contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor within their infrastructure division. The role is focused on helping to ensure the safe delivery of major capital works projects within the water utilities sector. The organisation has an excellent track record across health and safety and this role is critical to this continued success.

Responsibilities of the Senior Health and Safety Advisor will include:

• Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance
• Keeping updated with key changes to legislation and ensuring the organisation remains compliant
• Engaging with managers, clients and external stakeholders ensuring responsibilities
• Engaging with staff and contractors on health and safety performance on a day to day basis and support the delivery of objectives and targets

The successful Senior Health and Safety Advisor candidate will have:

• A NEBOSH Certificate and ideally Tech IOSH status
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
• Proven experience in a similar role ideally within utilities (preferably water), or in civil engineering.
