Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a leading civil engineering contractor who turnover north of £100m to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor. This role will be working closely with the Health and Safety Manager on a major long term infrastructure project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to develop their health and safety career with a leader in the civil engineering industry.

Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

• Visiting sites, supporting with the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
• Conducting training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigating incidents where required
• Reviewing the production of risk assessments and method statements
• Conducting audits and inspections of the site, identifying areas for improvement and helping write reports on the findings

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

• Proven experience in a similar role ideally from within construction or civil engineering

• NEBOSH or NCRQ Certificate and ideally IOSH membership
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders
